A Faint Whisper

And these are but the outer fringe of his works; how faint the whisper we hear of him!

(Job 26: 14)

I woke up to a soft snow falling this morning. It transformed the drab winter landscape into a winter wonderland. The dreary brown trees were dressed up in sparkling white attire. Pine trees bowed down under the weight of glistening snowflakes.  Birds flitted about with their colorful feathers commanding attention amidst the snowy-white scenery.

It’s amazing how a dusting of snow can change the entire appearance of the landscape in moments. It’s even more amazing that, according to scripture, the beauty of nature is just the outer fringe of God’s works.

The beautiful, snow-covered landscape isn’t even a whisper, but only a faint whisper of Him.  How amazing and how incomprehensible He is! We cannot even begin to imagine the wonderful and amazing things He has prepared for us in heaven; things too incredible for our human minds to comprehend.

It’s hard to envision anything  more beautiful than the snow -covered trees glistening in my mountain wonderland today. Yet, the Bible tells us that even this is just the outer fringe of His works, a faint whisper of what is yet to come.

What faint whispers of God do you see in your corner of the world today?
